Dr. Satyendra Prasad

Principal Technical Lead, Climate Initiatives (Asia-Pacific) — Abt

Dr. Satyendra Prasad is the Principal Technical Lead for Abt's climate initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. A diplomat and governance expert with over two decades of experience across the United Nations, World Bank, and the UK's Department for International Development (DFID, now FCDO), he provides strategic guidance on integrating climate considerations into sectors such as education and justice for programs funded by Australia's DFAT. Previously, as Fiji's Ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Prasad led diplomatic and policy engagements on climate change, nature and oceans, and the Sustainable Development Goals — championing the unique climate challenges of small island developing states. He held several ambassadorial roles, including High Commissioner to the U.S. and Canada, Chair of Pacific Small Island Developing States at the UN, Chair of Pacific Islands Forum Ambassadors at the UN, and Sherpa to the High-Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy.

Dr. Satyendra Prasad brings two decades of governance and diplomacy across the United Nations, World Bank, and DFID to Pacific climate resilience — from Fiji's UN Ambassadorship to his current role leading Abt's climate initiatives in Asia-Pacific.
